This international humanitarian non-governmental organization (NGO) originated in France on 20 December 1971 and is known for its work with endemic diseases in some seventy countries around the world. It consists of over thirty-five thousand physicians, nurses, and other medical and para-medical personnel. It headquarters in in Geneva, Switzerland.
